Elkridge Furnace Inn | Christiana and John

Where do I even start with these two? Seriously! In case you missed their intro post, here, these two contacted me with about 6 months to plan their wedding. I was still working full time and I just remember putting “meetings” on my calendar, sneaking off to the quiet conference room and making phone calls to venues pleading to see if they had any availability in October. And then we found one! Luckily, since these two are so active in their church we were able to pull a lot of talent from their congregation on short notice. John’s dad married them, their DJs were family friends, the florist had done the flowers for every single Correlli wedding, and their photo booth was donated by a member of the church.

I had to constantly remind myself throughout the planning process that Christiana was the first of her friends to get married. Her wedding was actually the first she had attended! I met with both of them constantly to ensure we were on time with tasks and that this poor girl wasn’t overwhelmed with all the to-dos! We were in the final countdown and I went to their house to go over some last minute details; I don’t remember exactly what I said to Christiana but she looked at me and said “I am way more focused on the marriage now. I know you have complete control over the wedding day.” Friends, this. For a bride to feel that confident in me AND to realize that everything we are doing had such a larger purpose. Man, I am tearing up just writing this.

I think my favorite part of their wedding day was actually a surprise to me up until the rehearsal! Mr. Correlli announced that John can kiss his bride (yay)! However, their first act as husband and wife was to take part in communion together. I melted into a tiny ball of emotions when I heard that. They were very clear that the Lord would be the center of their marriage-it was so beautiful.

Christiana and John, thank you both for being amazing clients and for refocusing me when I needed it the most.
