Marta and John were the epitome of embracing your wedding day as it comes. Unfortunately we had the dreaded r-word, rain. However, with some quick thinking we were able to pivot some florals and that allowed for a stunning backdrop for their portraits.
Marta had her jaw-dropping gown custom made in New York. But I think my favorite personal detail was a surprise from Marta’s father. They used to watch Father in the Bride in the months leading up to the wedding. So, Marta’s father had a custom pair of shoes created for her to wear while dancing on her wedding day.
For the design of the day, we focused on the waterfront setting at Kirkland Manor. The over arching design theme was abundant coastal grandmother. Every detail was chosen with that in mind from the florals to the tablecloths to the font on the menus. We wanted a relaxed yet elegant feeling for the entirety of the weekend for all their guests.
