Allison and Aaron are set to be married in a beautiful waterfront ceremony at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in August. Sadly, Boris, their French Bulldog will not be able to make an appearance on their wedding day so we made sure he made an appearance here!
I am so excited to work with these two! For now, get to know their love story and keep an eye out for their wedding post!
How did you two meet?
Aaron and I were introduced by a mutual friend who worked with Aaron. She thought we would be a great match and showed Aaron my Facebook at work. The rest is history! She is also going to officiate our wedding 🙂
How did he propose?
Aaron proposed at our favorite hiking trail trail in Shenandoah, Compton’s peak. He had known for a year since the last time we had been there that he was going to propose at that spot. Throughout the year, we visited that same overlook with both set’s of our parents when they came down to visit, and have photos to document all of our trips up there that year, leading up the engagement!
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning?
My favorite part of wedding planning has all of the little special details. It’s brought me back to little notes between us, locations that are special to us, and all the little nuances that make our relationship OURS. You don’t realize until you start customizing, how many moments you forget about that you will eventually want to incorporate into your day (for example, our tables are all street names of the special places in our lives).
What is one piece of advice you can give to a bride planning her wedding right now?
The best advice I would give is to follow your gut and personalize the things that make YOU happy. If you step back and remember its your day, all of those little ideas you pinned or circled in a magazine will turn into something that is uniquely yours as a couple. Whether it’s DIY, or something off Etsy, if it means something to you, it will mean something to your guests, too.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
I am most looking forward to putting my feet up in our hotel room after the wedding, and eating cheesecake/drinking champagne with my new husband 🙂
