I normally meet my potential clients at Starbucks but Kelly highly suggested a local watering hole by her house. Who am I to say no to a bar with heavy wine pours? As we sat, sipped, and munched she spilled all the details about her wedding day in St. Michael’s, MD, her wonderful fiancé Gary, and moving from Buffalo to Baltimore. You see, Kelly was a former Buffalo Bills cheerleader and had spent some time on a USO Tour so we were able to bond over our “war stories”. Oh and these wedding details we discussed? OH.MY.WORD. I was drooling and praying that she would hire me because I really wanted to see this vision come true.
#spoileralert: she hired me
Kelly and Gary were married on a warm (major emphasis on warm) summer day in August along the Chesapeake Bay. Their wedding was nautical through and through; from the oyster place cards to a small boat that held their beer selection. The wedding party got ready at this gorgeous inn and then they sailed around the venue on an old Skipjack Schooner before the ceremony. The guests were greeted with their signature drink titled “Rule #76”, paying homage to the film Wedding Crashers that was filmed right next to their wedding venue, in small oyster can cups. The ceremony took place at the gazebo in the middle of the museum and then guests danced the night away under a gorgeous tent on Navy Point. It was truly a breathtaking wedding.
